TCM- One of the commonly used Acupuncture point called: Lv 14 is located in the body just below the nipple, on the mid-clavicle at 6 th ICS.
Functions of this point according to TCM (traditional Chinese medicine) are: moves blood and qi, main point for intercostal neuralgia, release tight chest from anger and frustration.
In western medicine (WM) point of maximum impulse (PMI) (electrical charge) felt in the clavicular line roughly at 5 th ICS, below the nipple and mid-clavicle!
Doctors check this point (PMI) if heart ventricle dilated or dis-functioning.
Interestingly, in WM heart is also responsible from emotional issues. This is one of the interesting example that i figured among many of them that acupuncture is not disconnected from western medicine at all. Just the language is little different, that's all.
